Revitalize the world.

This mission marks our ambition for transformation for ourselves and for the world.

Our CSR approach is rooted in this mission and is fully integrated into our overall strategy. Three priorities have been defined: resourcing the planet, resourcing the territories, contributing to the well-being of our employees.

Veolia's prosperity is based on its usefulness for all of its stakeholders, customers, shareholders, employees, suppliers, current populations and future generations, in the various territories where it operates.

The constant dialogue and interaction with all of these stakeholders is a pledge of good mutual knowledge and understanding in order to best meet the various interests of these varied audiences.

Our CSR approach has a name: Resourcing Together.

Our desire to serve society, the continuous improvement of our activities for the benefit of our customers but also of all our stakeholders and to progress in our overall performance.

Our mission: to rejuvenate the world

Our contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, the 193 UN member countries collectively adopted a new program made up of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all.
This new agenda involves States, but also NGOs, businesses, local communities and each of us.

At Veolia, we are convinced that our activities actively contribute to progress for all. Since the definition of the MDGs (Millennium Development Goals, previous UN program) in 2000, the Group has provided more than 7.2 million people in developing and emerging countries with access to water. drinking water and connected more than 3.3 million people to sanitation services.

In 2016, we wanted to define the contours of our contribution to the SDGs by involving our stakeholders. We carried out a multi-criteria analysis at 3 levels:

  • link between the SDGs and Veolia's 9 commitments;
  • collection of the perception of our stakeholders on our contribution to the SDGs;
  • link between the SDGs and Veolia's growth sectors around the world.

The first two levels of analysis have brought out 5 SDGs at the heart of our businesses: Veolia is a major player in sustainable cities (SDG 11) through the management of essential water and sanitation services (SDG 6) , energy (SDG 7) and cleanliness (SDG 11). Through its growing activities, Veolia promotes innovative industrial production methods (SDG 9) and more responsible consumption through the circular economy (SDG 12).
 The stakeholders consulted underlined the Group's capacity for innovation (SDG 9) and its relations with its stakeholders (SDG 17) as key axes for participating in the achievement of the SDGs, particularly in the fight against climate change (SDG 13).
