  • Christophe Maquet
    Senior Executive Vice President, Asia

    Since April 2021, Christophe Maquet has been Senior Executive Vice President for Veolia's Asia region and a member of the Executive Committee of the world's leading environmental services group for ecological transformation. In this role, he is at the head of 18,400 employees in 8 countries providing the resources necessary for people’s well-being, the attractiveness of territories and the performance of businesses.

    From 2013 to 2019, he successively held the position of Veolia’s Director of Cooling Networks and Industrial Utilities for Asia and the Middle East, then that of Energy Business Line Director for Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong, before being appointed Veolia Industrial Customer Director in Japan in 2017.

    In 2019 and before returning to Asia, Christophe Maquet was the Executive Vice President for Veolia's Africa and Middle East region, leading 8,500 employees in some 15 countries.

    Christophe Maquet joined Veolia in 2004 as financial controller of the Group's Energy activities.

    Born in 1978, he graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées.

  • Preet Brar
    CEO & Country Director, India

    Preet Brar is the CEO and Country Director of Veolia India and is responsible for the management of all Veolia activities in India and Bangladesh. Her expertise in environmental infrastructure development and management combined with her strong operational and commercial acumen has led to the growth of diverse business lines including regulated industries. 

    Preet is a CPA (Australia) and she completed her MBA from the University of South Australia in Adelaide. She is also an Advisory Board Member for Infrastructure Partnerships Australia.

    She has been with Veolia for over 17 years and during her tenure, she has led both functional and operational teams, delivered strategic M&A projects and has undertaken strategy development for Veolia ANZ. She has a passion for building capability through developing talent and fostering teams. This emanates from her strong belief in the power of cultivating human capabilities to transform business performance. Before joining Veolia India, Preet was the CFO at Veolia Australia & New Zealand with revenues of $1.7B and over 4,500 employees. 

  • SVK Babu
    Deputy CEO & Head of Municipal Water Business, India

    Mr Babu is the Deputy CEO and also one of the Directors on the board of Veolia India. He is also the head of the Municipal water segment and new loops material and is responsible for its business development and operations in India along with the general management of the organization. He has worked on structuring water and wastewater contracts in the Indian context, involved in negotiations with partners for shareholding agreements, project financing as well as monitoring the JVs along with partners. 

    As the Deputy CEO, he contributes to the strategic and operational direction of Veolia in India along with establishing clear and consistent management practices to enable a high performing and cohesive executive team. Overall he has more than 20 years of experience. 

    He has been working with Veolia India right from the beginning, the year 2000 onwards. Earlier to this, he worked with Anglian Water in India and the UK for a short period. Mr Babu is a Graduate in Civil Engineering (1993), master in Environmental Engineering (1995). He also completed a postgraduate programme in management (2008).

  • Hiral Desai
    Senior Vice President, Industrial Services, India

    Hiral Desai is Vice President, Industrial Services for Veolia in India and heads the Industrial Waste Business. He is responsible for defining and executing a business strategy for the industrial waste business of Veolia India along with business development and managing corporate finance. Under his leadership, the company has increased its presence in the industrial waste sector from 3 locations to 5 in a short span of 3 years.   

    He is a Chartered Accountant with over 21 years of global experience in building organisations, identifying new business opportunities, managing business and P&L. He is an expert strategist in defining growth and sustainability focussed business models delivering results over the long term with hands-on experience in maximising stakeholder value and delivering on commitments.

    Mr Desai was Executive Director of Detox Group of Companies prior to joining Veolia where he was responsible for strategizing, organizing and executing the group's operations and projects across India. Prior to this, he worked with Deutsche Bank in London as a Vice President and with Deloitte in India and the USA.
